Meet the Team
The extraordinary individuals comprising our high school robotics team form an impassioned cohort of tech-savvy enthusiasts, driving the gears of our team's triumph with unwavering dedication.
Nash
President
Nash has spent all 4 years of high school in the robotics club, and 3 years on the Jaybots. He is now the president, but in the past has been the programming leader for the team. Outside of robotics he is a member of Science Olympiad and Math Team and loves to tinker with his Linux computer. He currently uses NixOS, but has used Arch in the past. In the future, Nash would like to pursue a career in cybersecurity.
Hiroyuki
Vice President
Hiro is a senior at John Jay High School and is the Vice-President of the club. He has been in robotics since his freshman year and was formerly the Architect/CAD Leader and unofficially the CIO for his sophomore and junior years. He now coaches the Phoenix Team and helps out with CAD for the Jaybots. After high school, Hiro plans on attending university for computer science or mechanical engineering.
Pallavi
Secretary
Pallavi is a senior on the team. She is in charge of managing social media, and documentation for the Robotics team. Outside of robotics, she plays tennis, the violin, is in student government, and debate club! In the future, Pallavi hopes to go into the medical field.
Joe Lopez
Treasurer
Joe is a senior at John Jay, and this is his second year in robotics. As the Treasurer, he plans to raise as much money as possible for the teams success. Outside of robotics, Joe works for Bouquets by Christine, is a soon to be Eagle Scout, and enjoys cooking, fishing, coin collecting, spending time with friends, and contemplating the mysteries of life. His favorite dish is butter chicken. After high school, Joe aspires to major in mechanical engineering.

Mr. Amodio
Mentor & Coach
James Amodio teaches Regents Physics and PLTW: Principles of Engineering at John Jay High School. While this is only his 5th year in the Wappingers Central School District, he has been an FTC Coach at Blind Brook High School as well as Roosevelt and Riverside High Schools in Yonkers, NY. He has also been coaching several Jr. FLL teams in the Arlington School District for the past 3 years. Mr. Amodio is very excited to be working with such a dedicated team as the JAYBOTS!
Anthony
Compiler
Anthony Giron (Compiler) is a senior at John Jay High School. This is his third year in robotics, and his first year on the Jaybots. He was the programming leader for the JV team while he was in his first year, and is now the treasurer as a part of the Jaybots. From robotics he has learned valuable skills of engineering and teamwork. Anthony plans to go to college into either the computer science or engineering field after high school. he enjoys to program games in his free time.
Matthew
Architect
Matthew is a junior in his third year at the Robotics club. He enjoys math & science in school and is a member other clubs like Science Olympiad, Computer Science Honor Society, & Math Team. In his free time, he enjoys working on programming & 3d printing projects. Matthew is currently the Architect (CAD Leader).
Joey
Foreman
Joe is a senior at John Jay who loves Nutella Biscuits. He enjoys spending most of his time coding, doing robotics, playing piano, and playing basketball. He hopes to major in computer science in college. Joe has been working very hard here on the Jaybots, and can't wait to buy himself some Nutella Biscuits.
Joanna
Media Manager
Joanna George is in 12th Grade and has been on the team since the middle of Freshman Year. In the Robotics Club, Joanna is an officer and holds the Media Manager Position. She is also in the school’s Music Honor Society, Tri-M, where she is the Secretary, as well as a member of many other honor societies. She loves to play tennis, play the violin, and play with her dog named Jack. In the future, she plans to go to college, majoring in biomedical engineering.
Anika
Manufacter
Anika is a freshman at John Jay High School, who enjoys Robotics and CAD. She is also an Indian classical dancer and plays the piano in her free time. As a setter on the JV volleyball team, Anika thrives as the "brain of the court." Additionally, she is a member of Science Olympiad and math team. Anika wishes to major in engineering.
Hailey

Hailey Kim is a junior at John Jay High School, and has been a part of the Robotics club for 3 years. From robotics, she has learned valuable skills in engineering. Other than Robotics, she participates in Science Olympiad and Math Team. Outside of school, she enjoys playing the violin and piano. She looks forward to a fun year working with her teammates.
Ava
Branding Leader
Ava is a sophomore at John Jay High School and is in her second year on the robotics team, where she serves as the Branding Leader. Outside of robotics, she enjoys playing volleyball, conducting research, skiing, and playing several instruments. She is also involved in clubs like Science Olympiad, Tri-M, Science Research, Amnesty, and Pit Orchestra. She's excited to work with the team!
Nhan
Equipment Manager
Nhan Nguyen is currently a junior of John Jay. He’s in charge with organizing the parts and supplies for easy access for the team. Outside of Highchool, he goes to private lessons for the violin and tutors math. He’s in multiple clubs like Honor societies and Science Olympiad. He’s hopes to work under the medical field in the future.
Nicole
Outreach Manager
Nicole is a sophomore at John Jay High School, and has been on the robotics team for two years, and is now the Outreach Coordinator for the Jaybots team. Other clubs that she is a part of are Science Research Club (as the Outreach Manager), Math Honor Society, Computer Science Honor Society, Tri-M, and Science Olympiad, among a few others. She also plays the violin as a part of the John Jay String Orchestra and Pit Orchestra. She is eager to contribute and is looking forward to collaborating with the members of the Jaybots team!
Veda
Webmaster
Veda is a freshman on the Jaybots robotics team, and she is currently the webmaster. Veda loves playing the violin, drawing, playing volleyball, and singing carnatic music during her free time. She loves Indian food, especially jackfruit briyani. Veda has also been a member of science olympiad and math club for two years, and she still is. Veda hopes to major in business or biology.
